ANOTHER TRIUMPH FOR XYBASE VIA PNMB PORTAL

Kuala Lumpur, 11 Februari 2003 – Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad (PNMB) today launched its portal www.printnasional.com.my at a ceremonious event in Kuala Lumpur. Present at the event to launch the portal were Y.B. Datuk Amar Leo Moggie, Minister of Energy, Communication and Multimedia, chairman of PNMB Tan Sri Datuk Clifford Herbert and President of XYBASE, En. Suhaimee Abu Hassan.

XYBASE Sdn Bhd using its expertise in portal development being a large locally developed global ICT organisation successfully developed the portal. The portal is a means to create global presence and act as a point of contact between an organisation and its customers.

Home-grown websites and portals are an important medium to showcase the best of Malaysian knowledge and expertise. There is certainly no lack of innovation and creativity among Malaysians and there is plenty to achieve if we embrace and take advantage of the vast opportunities offered in Malaysia. This is evident through the effort made by XYBASE with PNMB.

In his speech, Y.B. Dato’ Amar Leo Moggie announced that effective from January 2003, Malaysia has been elected as Chairman of the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) in ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) which is the world body for regulation of internet domain names, for a period of two years.

The PNMB portal is in full operation as the gateway of advancement for the printing industry in Malaysia particularly to be able to take advantage of the borderless world of the new economy.
